Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

  • Arrival at Paro International Airport.
  • Welcome by our representative and transfer to your hotel.
  • Check-in and rest after your journey.
  • Briefing session about the trekking expedition.
  • Dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 2: Paro – Jele Dzong

  • After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the trek near the Ta Dzong (National Museum).
  • Begin the trek to Jele Dzong, ascending through oak and rhododendron forests.
  • Arrive at Jele Dzong and set up camp.
  • Explore the surroundings and enjoy the scenic views.
  • Dinner and overnight camping at Jele Dzong.

Day 3: Jele Dzong – Jangchulakha

  • After breakfast, start trekking towards Jangchulakha.
  • Trek through alpine meadows and yak herder camps.
  • Cross the Jele La Pass (3,490 meters) for breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
  • Descend to Jangchulakha and set up camp.
  • Dinner and overnight camping at Jangchulakha.

Day 4: Jangchulakha – Jimilangtso

  • After breakfast, continue trekking towards Jimilangtso.
  • Trek along ridges with stunning views of snow-capped peaks.
  • Pass by several small lakes and yak herder settlements.
  • Arrive at Jimilangtso and set up camp near the lake.
  • Dinner and overnight camping at Jimilangtso.

Day 5: Jimilangtso – Simkotra Tsho

  • After breakfast, trek towards Simkotra Tsho.
  • Trek through forests and alpine meadows.
  • Encounter diverse flora and fauna along the way.
  • Arrive at Simkotra Tsho and set up camp near the sacred lake.
  • Dinner and overnight camping at Simkotra Tsho.

Day 6: Simkotra Tsho – Phajoding

  • After breakfast, trek towards Phajoding.
  • Ascend through forests and rhododendron groves.
  • Cross several mountain passes with panoramic views.
  • Arrive at Phajoding and set up camp.
  • Explore the area and visit Phajoding Monastery.
  • Dinner and overnight camping at Phajoding.

Day 7: Phajoding – Thimphu

  • After breakfast, trek downhill to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
  • Arrive in Thimphu and explore the city’s cultural landmarks.
  • Visit Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and local markets.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 8: Thimphu – Paro

  • After breakfast, drive back to Paro.
  • Visit Paro’s cultural attractions, including Kyichu Lhakhang and Rinpung Dzong.
  • Free time for leisure and shopping.
  • Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 9: Paro – Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery

  • After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest.
  • Explore the monastery complex and enjoy panoramic views of the Paro Valley.
  • Descend back to the base and return to your hotel.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Paro.

Day 10: Departure from Paro

  • After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
  • End of the Druk Path Trekking Expedition.
